As soon as a voice message is recorded on the Aastra X Series gateway embedded voice messaging, an e-mail is generated with the voice mail attached in a .Wav file, and this e-mail is sent to the e-mail address of the owner of the voicemail box.
The user may then access to this e-mail though the usual e-mail interface, and listen to the content of the voicemail (.Wav file) on the desktop.
An acknowledgement is then sent by the e-mail messaging server to the Aastra X Series, in order to update the MWI (Messaging Waiting Indicator) state on the user phone.
Both e-mails and voice mail are managed and accessed on a single interface : the e-mail client interface.
The user does not need anymore to use the phone to access the voice mail.
